Thermoplastics paste containing a plasticizer is applied to one side of the fabric and gelled by heating to a permanent porous structure. The paste is a PVC paste-containing a monomeric polymerisable plasticizer which polymerises at the gelling temp. of the PVC and becomes hard. Pref. the paste also contains a blowing agent which is decomposed below this polymerisation temp. The fabric can be a fibre web and the foam layer >5 mm thick. |
