Automatic door actuating and safety mechanism - has flexible edge actuating circuit producing automatic electrical opening signals

The mechanism is fitted on the locking edge of the door panel and protects persons or objects trapped during the closing movement of such a door. The completely closed door is not automatically opened. The safety functions remain operational up to full closing of the door and no critical adjustment is necessary. The closing edge has a flexible hollow sealing edge with a contact (3) which seals the closed door. When more marked squeezing pressure is exerted then an electrical contact is closed for triggering an electrical opening signal. The inner side of the hollow sealing edge can be contacted over its whole length or partly for generating signals. The sealing edge itself can be made from electrical conducting elastic material.
