The bellows of the folding camera are supported on a series of rectangular cross-section wire hoops set along the folds of the bellows. The hinge points of the hoops are near the fold axis of the bellows, with the ends of the hoops angled to fit over each other. The hoops ensure that the bellows are folded accurately and into a compact space. The system is esp. useful for self-processing cameras in which a folded lay-out provides the large format prints without going through an enlarging process.
