1530366 Securing propeller blades to hubs LORD CORP 15 July 1976 [18 July 1975] 29462/76 Heading B7V A propeller-blade retention system comprises a frictionless thrust bearing 34 and a laminated elastomeric thrust bearing 38 connected in series. The laminations of the elastomeric bearing are frusto conical and define an effective elastic centre which is located outboard of the thrust bearings. The thrust bearings are preloaded by means of a resilient pad 66 which frictionally engages the surface 64 of the hub 10 during static conditions to resist drooping. The pad moves away from the surface 64 during centrifugal loading. |
