1530194 Diagnostic radioactive compositions MALLINCKRODT INC 17 May 1976 [27 May 1975] 05733/77 Divided out of 1530192 Heading A5B [Also in Division C3] A stabilised composition for labelling with technetium-99m for use in lung scanning procedures comprises a dispersion of denatured aggregate of serum albumin to which stannous ions are attached and a mixture of a polycarboxylic acid and a disaccharide or monosaccharide as a protective agent in an amount sufficient to reduce degradation of the physical and chemical properties of the dispersion during lyophilization and ageing thereafter. The protective agent is preferably a mixture of succinic or glutaric acid and lactose or dextrose. The dispersion may be lyophilized for storage purposes and the radioactive labelling may be accomplished on the lyophilized product, during reconstitution of the lyophilized product or directly to a dispersion.
