Surgical sewing material - with chemical fibre braiding surrounding bundle of thin metal wires

Surgical sewing material consists of a tubular braiding of very thin plaited chemical fibres which enclose a bundle of very thin metal wires of pure platinum or gold. A surgical needle is attached to the braiding at least at one end. The material for the chemical fibres is PTFE or polyester, with a smooth surface and a high abrasive and tensile strength. Such material has no capillary effect like silk and allows an X-ray observation of any suture, specially when organs have been transplanted.
