The fixing device is for skids, grain lifters etc. and has a flat, sprung supporting shank with slotted end bent downwards, to the cutter mechanism of a harvesting machine. The end fits in a groove in the mower finger beam fixing screw, and is held by a prestressed stirrup fitting round the fingers. The groove (7) is formed by a clamping rail (5) screwed to the underside of two or more adjacent mower fingers (1), using the screws (2) securing the latter, and distance pieces (4). The latter can be formed by small rollers, whose diameter corresponds to the width of the end slot.
