Thin, even, parallel layers of polymers between two resin films are prepd. by fixing both films to highly polished perforated plates using a vacuum, placing the films, distanced by film strips to determine the thickness of the layer, on top of each other and carrying out polymerisation in space between the films. The resin films pref. have a coating of adhesion promoter comprising a polymer contg. unsatd. gps. which can react with acrylamide in the presence of catalysts. Thin, even layers of polyacrylamide gel used for electrophoresis can be prepd. economically.
