PURPOSE:To achieve a uniformer temperature distribution and a higher durability by arranging a heating section of a heater layer to be laminated on an electrochemical cell so that the sectional area at the central side portion in the installation region is larger than that at the peripheral side portion. CONSTITUTION:A heater body 2 of an electrochemical cell such as oxygen sensor is made up of a heating section 4 and a lead section 6, which are made on a substrate 8 by screen printing or the like of the mixture of platinum and ceramics. The heatig section 4 is zigzag in the shape and so arranged that the width of the central heating part 4a positioned on the center side thereof is made larger than that of the peripheral heating section 4b on the peripheral side to enlarge the sectional area thereof. This makes the generation of heat at the center thereof smaller than that in the periphery thereof thereby improving the durability with a more uniform temperature distribution. |
