PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce real time processing overhead related to a function of current, by initializing a short-time and ground-fault protective thermal index accumulator for compensating a current flow for the duration among the application of phase current, current measurement, and the application of a protective algorithm. SOLUTION: The duration among the application of phase current, current measurement, and the application of a protective algorithm is divided into the first time component and the second time component. The first time component is the time between the moments at which phase current is applied and microcontroller 24 is initialized, or it is released from a reset condition and starts performing a command. The second time element is the time between the moments at which the microcontroller 24 is initialized and the microcontroller 24 starts performing a short-time and a ground-fault algorithm. The initial value of an accumulator in the microcontroller 24 is created based on the first and second time components. |
