PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation responsive lithographic printing plate directly engraved from digital data and having a high plate wear resistance for obtaining a printed matter including no dirt of a non-image part by recording particularly by using a solid state laser for radiating an infrared ray or a semiconductor laser or the like without necessity of a special treatment such as a wet development, rubbing or the like after an image is written. SOLUTION: The radiation responsive lithographic printing plate comprises a photosensitive layer containing a binding agent and an infrared absorbent. The agent has a functional group varying from a hydrophobic property to a hydrophilic property according to any of an acid, a radiant ray and a heat. The absorbent is an infrared absorbent having an aromatic ring including a hydrophobic functional group changing to a hydrophilic property according to a heat as a substituent.
