The invention relates to a surface which can be folded flat, including a vertical prismatic column 1 and panels 2 fixed to one face of this column. According to the invention, the column includes three walls, two side walls 4 being mounted so as to pivot about a longitudinal folding line 5 with respect to a central wall 4 which supports the panels, the two side walls being joined together by at least one elastic return means, which draws them towards one another, their longitudinal free edge having a profile such that the two walls 4 can come into abutment against one another in the mounted position of the structure under the stress of the elastic means, projecting portions of the one being engaged in cut-outs in the other, and reciprocally. <IMAGE>
