The invention relates to a device making it possible to regulate the level of liquid in any receptacle receiving irregular or non-irregular top-ups of liquid, without overflowing and without complete emptying, and withstanding power cuts of several weeks without loss of efficiency. This device consists of four syphons: a syphon 1, the highest point of which is at the height of the maximum desired level, allowing the removal of liquid, regulated by a tap 2 connected to a tapping on the syphon 5, the other three syphons being immersed in the receptacle, the syphon 3 serves to feed a pump which should not be self-priming, the syphon 4, with a diameter equal to that of the syphon 1, leads the water from the pump to the receptacle, the syphon 5 is mounted on a tapping on the syphon 4 and its flow rate is regulated by a tap 6. A small-diameter pipe 7 is fixed to the highest point of the syphon 1 in order to prevent complete priming thereof by drawing in air. This device according to the invention is particularly intended for aquariums provided with a more or less continuous water feed of the "drop by drop" type. <IMAGE>
