The control unit has a storage device (R2,C) which remains functional at voltages below the control unit and/or microprocessor supply voltage. Pref. the storage device stores data from the microprocessor and also has an input (11) for data supplied independently of the microprocessor. Pref. the microprocessor can read the stored data via a comparator (13). The latter pref. has an input connected to a voltage divider (R5,R6) in the microprocessor supply and an input connected to the storage device.
