The steering wheel uses a heating conductor (1) coupled via a switch (6) to the vehicle battery (5) and embedded in the foam or hardened plastics covering enclosing the steering wheel core. The heating conductor (1) has rectangular or curved meanders (14) with C-shaped longitudinal arms (15) joined by shorter arms (16) extending in the peripheral direction of the steering wheel. The heating conductor (1) is formed by a Cu wire reinfored by a narrow plastics band (2) extending along the centre line of the meanders perpendicular to the longitudinal arms (15) of the meanders (14). ADVANTAGE - Heating conductor is suitable for wide range of different steering wheels.
