The material sorting device sorts the rubbish into different types, according to its denisty and vol. The vol. can be determined from a measured gas vol, or gas press variation, to allow the specific weight of the material to be measured, for sorting the rubbish accoding to its specific weight. Pref. the sorting device has a seperation stage (3), followed by a weighing stage (4) and a specific density measuring stage (5), followed by a further separation stage (6) with collection containers (7) for the sorted material. The results of weighing (4) and density measurement (5) are calculated by a computer (8) output of which is used to control the last separation stage (6). ADVANTAGE - Efficient material recycling.
