<p>PURPOSE:To process STM signals and ATM signals in the same equipment and to eliminate the redundancy of facilities by multiplexing and demultiplexing the plural STM signals and ATM signals and mutually exchanging highway side signals and transmission line signals. CONSTITUTION:Terminals 1-1 to 1-N respectively input and output the STM signals of a prescribed order and the terminals 2-1 to 2-N respectively input and output the ATM signals of the prescribed order. An STM terminating circuit 3 is provided with photo electric conversion and an SDH function stipulated by CCITT, etc. An ATM terminating circuit 4 is provided with the photoelectric conversion, the SDH function and an ATM function. A multiplexing/ demultiplexing circuit 5 is provided with a multiplexing/demultiplexing function corresponding to multiplexing rules by CCITT stipulation. The multiplexing/ demultiplexing circuit 6 is the circuit of a cell base, cells are transmitted to be multiplexed from the circuit 4 provided with the cells to be transmitted when a highway is empty and priority control is performed at the time of performing contention at the highway. The multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit 7 is the same as the circuit 5. A terminating circuit 8 performs as an interface with a transmission line.</p> |
