PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in good yield, by reacting CO with formaldehydes using a specific catalyst, followed by alcoholysis without separating a reaction mixture from the reaction system, and reusing the catalyst after separating and drying it. CONSTITUTION:CO and formaldehyde or a polymer of formaldehyde which produces formaldehyde by depolymerization thereof are reacted in a solvent using a solid catalyst of fluorinated sulfonic acid resin. An alcohol is then added to alcoholize the resultant reaction mixture without separation thereof from the reaction system. The unreacted CO is removed out of the reaction system by purging with N2, etc. After the alcoholysis, the solid catalyst is separated by filtration, and dried for reuse as the catalyst. The filtrate of the reaction solution is distilled to obtain the aimed compound. EFFECT:The aimed compound can be prepared industrially at a low cost without a corrosion problem of reaction vessels by catalyst and with easy regeneration of catalyst. |
