According to the invention, a cylindrical component (19) is clamped on its periphery between jaws (5, 6) at a distance from an adjustment location (20), the jaws (5, 6) being supported in such a way that a rotational movement of the component (19) can be carried out by means of their movement on the periphery of the component (19), and the component (19) being rotatably supported in a bearing (21) on its peripheral surface directly at the adjustment location (20). The invention enables a rotational movement without play about a predefined centre point and implements the smallest angular adjustments highly accurately, in order to achieve a necessary assignment of the fibre ends of optical waveguides. The optical waveguide can be removed simply from the device by opening the jaw (5) and removing the leaf spring (24) of the bearing (21). <IMAGE>
