In a manual control device having a control knob which is held in a housing in a bearing so as to be able to be pivoted about two orthogonal axes about a fixed point, the bearing is constructed as an elastomeric link, whose elastic reset force is directed from all deflected positions towards the zero position of the control knob. An elastomeric link of this type yields, on the one hand, a precise mounting and, by means of the possible one-piece solution, replaces a plurality of mechanical components with respect to previous solutions. In the case of suitable dimensioning, additional reset elements for guiding back the control knob into its zero position can either be completely omitted or these can be dimensioned to be correspondingly smaller. In addition, rubber or a corresponding plastic for the elastomeric link also protects against the penetration of influences of moisture into the interior of the housing and thus also has a sealing function. The elastomeric link, as a simply produced one-piece component, thus replaces a plurality of components previously necessary for mounting, resetting and sealing or simplifies their constructional configuration.
