The invention relates to a synchronising mechanism for unfolding and folding a pontoon unit, the pontoon unit being formed from two inner and outer floating bodies and in the process the inner floating bodies being connected to one another by a double joint and the outer floating bodies being connected to the inner floating bodies via further double joints in such a way that they can be unfolded in a W-shape when being shifted from a transport position into a floating position and can be folded in a W-shape when being shifted from a floating position into the transport position. The unfolding or folding operation is effected by synchronising mechanisms which are located between the double joints.
