PURPOSE:To prevent the radio equipment from being damaged even if it is subjected to a high shock load such as a fall, etc., by providing an auxiliary rib in the longitudinal direction of a housing, on the inside surface of a bottom part of the housing of the portable radio equipment. CONSTITUTION:This equipment is provided with an opening part 8 formed in a bottom part of a housing 1 of the portable radio equipment, a bridge part 9, and a detaining part 10 of a battery unit provided on both sides of the opening part 8 of the bridge part 9. Also, this equipment is provided with an auxiliary rib 11 whose one end is fixed to the bottom part of the housing 1 on both sides of the opening part 8, and which extends in the longitudinal direction of the housing 1 from the bottom part of this housing 1. Moreover, this equipment is provided with a side wall plate 12 to which the other end of the auxiliary rib 11 is fixed, and whose end part is fixed to a side wall of the housing 1. By the auxiliary rib 11, even if the portable radio equipment falls on the ground due to carelessness, etc., of a speaker, and the bottom part comes into collision with the ground, shock force at the time of collision is dispersed to the auxiliary rib, and it can be prevented that a stress generated by shock force concentrates in an engaging part provided in the bottom part.
