PURPOSE:To provide an image observed from a moved position in real time when the position of the eye of an observer moves in various directions includ ing forward/backward directions. CONSTITUTION:A multiple viewpoint image data base 3 which holds the images from plural viewpoints, a viewpoint detector 2 which detects the viewpoint position of an observer, and a viewpoint parameter calculation part 7 which finds a viewpoint parameter from the output of the viewpoint detector 2 are provided. Furthermore, a picture element value generating part 17 which calculates a parameter required for the re-construction of the image from the kind of a display screen 1 and the viewpoint parameter, etc., and calculates to which picture element each picture element of a re-constructed image in the multiple viewpoint image data base 3 corresponds by using the parameter, and extracts a corresponding picture element from the multiple viewpoint image data base 3 is provided. |
