PURPOSE:The titled food consisting essentially of powder and/or extract of Evoida rutaecarpa Hook f. et Thomson. CONSTITUTION:A hair growth and hair tonic food obtained by extracting dried leaf, root, seed or fruit or dried powder of Evoida rutaecarpa Hook f. et Thomson (used as a herb medicine; pepti, diuretic or analgesic, prepared by drying an unripe or ripe fruit of Evoida rutaecarpa Hook f. et Thomson or Evoida rutaecarpa Benth var. officinolis Huang which is a plant of the family Rutaceae) with water or a hydrous lower alcohol preferably under heating or concentrating to give a freeze-died powder. The food is capable of promoting the blood circulation, suppresses the formation of lipoperoxides, and preventing the retention of the so-called vitiated blood near the hair root, and exhibiting the effect by extending the nutriment to the hair. One or more of other compounding agents, e.g. Polygoni multiflori radix, Chinese jujube, Coicis semen, ginseng or safflower, therein. |
