Digital transmission method especially for message signals

The transmission method allows digital information signals to be transmitted between two subscribers (Tln) of a digital communications network (DN), using a single 64kbit/s channel via frames with a defined number of bits and signalling identification characters. The signalling bit characters for an external transmission path connection are only transmitted when no information/message signals are being transmitted. They are transmitted with tariff pulses as a defined bit sequence, which is identified at the reception end, using the last bit in each information signal frame.
