PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align the position and the range of a range-finding zone on a photographic image plane or a finder visual field with the position and the range of actual range-finding regardless of subject distance and focal distance by selecting a line sensor used for detection based on the variance of an optical device. SOLUTION: In the case of wide-angle photographing, range-finding is executed by utilizing a substance image projected in a light receiving range 53W, that is, range-finding calculation is executed by using signal charges accumulated in all the photodetectors of the line sensor 52A. In the case of standard photographing, range-finding calculation is executed by using the photodetector in a narrower light receiving range 53S and in the case of telephotographing, it is executed by using the photodetector in a much narrower light receiving range 53T. Thus, the width of the line sensor 52 is made larger than the conventional one, and the light receiving range of the line sensor 52 used for the range- finding is selected in accordance with the field magnification of a variable power finder. Therefore, the size of the range-finding zone in a finder visual field 56 becomes constant regardless of the field magnification and coincident with that of a range-finding frame. |
