The fitting has relatively movable upper and lower parts (12, 14), locked together in set positions by a locking joint (16). A contact catch (20) engages with a locking pawl (28) via a spring-loaded clamping arm (34). The spring (40) engages on the clamping arm with a mainly even load, in any position of the arm. One end (44) of the spring is hinged to the lower fitting part (14), the other end (42) is hinged to the clamping arm, and this forms a clamping eccentric, pivoted about a coupling point (36).
