Exhaust gas cleanser for IC engine or burner

The cleanser comprises a filter element which traps the particles in the exhaust gas and stores them in the filter container (5). An air supply (7) exerts pressure on the particles to force them into the filter. A heater (4) heats the air before it reaches the particles. The cleanser has an almost constant air flow resistance and a sensor (1a,b) measures the pressure difference of the air across this resistance before the air reaches the particles. The pressure of the air against the filter element can be adjusted so that the difference between the pressure difference and a reference pressure difference is a preset value. The reference pressure difference or the actual pressure difference can cause the temperature of the heated air to be modified to set a mass flow rate of the air to a desired value.
