The method concerns cold-forming of metal workpieces, and is characterised by the following steps: a) a first step at which a first section of the workpiece (50) in the forming station of a press (1) is pressed into a predetermined shape; b) a second step at which the workpiece is advanced over a distance corresponding to the predetermined shape, so that the first section is positioned appropriately into a feed device in front of the forming station and a second, following section of the workpiece is pressed into the required shape in the forming station; 3) a third step which consists of repeating the first and second steps a predetermined number of times.
