PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a salient-type rotor with a structure in which a d-axis factor of non-synchronous flux factors passing through edges in a circumferential direction of a magnetic pole member can be attenuated. SOLUTION: A rotor has a damper winding made up of a plurality of damper bars 3 passing through a magnetic pole member 2a of a rotor magnetic pole core 2 and a damper segment for connecting the damper bar 3 in a conductive state. The magnetic pole core 2 has a trunk-side wall 2c with a groove in an axial direction, and a conductor bar 4 is additionally formed in the groove. Both ends of the conductor bar 4 in the axial direction are connected electrically with the damper segment to constitute the damper winding. Then, a d-axis factor (ϕdpt) of non-synchronous flux factors passing through a circumferential edge 2b can be attenuated. Mechanical strength of the circumferential edge 2b of the magnetic pole core 2 with respect to the centrifugal force can be enhanced, while partial flux saturation of the circumferential edge 2b can be attenuated.
