PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite fiber consisting of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol- based copolymer and a specific polyester block copolymer and capable of giving a woven or knitted fabric, excellent in gentle skin touch feeling, elasticity and softness, and fitting to the movement of a body. SOLUTION: This composite fiber is composed of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol- based copolymer and a polyester block copolymer, in which the later consists of (A) an aromatic polyester segment composed of dicarboxylic acid units and diol units of which >=70 mol.% dicarboxylic acid unit is an aromatic dicarboxylic acid unit and >=70 mol.% diol units is a 2-4C aliphaticα,ω-diol units, etc., and (B) an aliphatic polyester segment composed of dicarboxylic acid units and diol units or an aliphatic polyester segment composed of hydroxycarboxylic acid units, etc., and has a weight ratio of the components A/B=(95/5)-(30/70).
