PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for effectively and quickly applying heat and pressure in terms of a dye thermal transfer recorder wherein a dye-coated layer having an image is transferred to a recording medium. SOLUTION: In a dye thermal transfer recorder, a dye-coated sheet 3 having an image printed thereon is superposed on a recording medium 20 and they are provided on a plane heating table 40, a pressure roller 24 is pressed to the heating table 40 and the heating table 40 is moved together with the dye- coated sheet 3 and recording medium 20. The dye-coated sheet 3 is entirely pressed to the recording medium 20 by being heated.
