PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the prevention of the occurrence of fogging compatible with the prolongation of time until the producing amount of an ozone product reaches the amount by which a charge distribution in the latent image carrying area of a latent image carrier is made irregular by setting an additive rate at the time when an additive is transited and additive transited area to values in a range satisfying a specified condition. SOLUTION: A developer is principally constituted of a resin and an additive whose the polarities are reverse to each other, and the additive is transited from an outer peripheral surface to an latent image non-carrying area of a latent image carrier 2 by an alternating electric field. When a potential difference between the outer peripheral surface and the latent image non-carrying area at such a time is shown as E [V], a rate that a voltage by which the additive is transited from the outer peripheral surface to the latent image non-carrying area is applied from a voltage applying means to the developer carrier 2 per a unit time is shown as R, the additive rate of the additive to the resin is shown as W [wt.%] and the additive transited area is defined as S=ER, the additive rate W [wt.%] and the additive transited area S are set to the values in the range satisfying an expression; -26.5 W+386<=S<=-26.5 W+511. |
