PROCESS FOR PREPARING (S)-3,4-EPOXY BUTYRIC SALT HAVING AN OPTICAL ACTIVE SUBSTANCE

PURPOSE: A compound is prepared by the opening reaction of epoxide salt and nucleophiles such as oxygen, nitrogen, acid, sulfur or carbon. CONSTITUTION: Butyric derivatives (formula 1; R2 is halogen group; R3 is hydrogen atom or acyl group) are prepared by the opening reaction of (S)-3-hydroxybutyrolactone and halogenic acid-carboxylic acid. Obtained butyric derivatives are epoxidated at -20- 100°C in an aqueous solution containing C1- C4 alcohol, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane or acetonitrile in the presence of an alkali to give (S)-3,4-epoxybutyric salt (R1 is alkali metal atom such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide or lithium hydroxide, alkali earth metal atom such MgOH, CaOH, BaOH, alkylamine (NHR4R5; R4 and R5 are C2- C7 alkyl group) or quaternary amine group such as tetrabutyl ammonium hydroxide, benzyltrimethyl ammonium hydroxide).
