Straight line fluorescent lamp as compact lamp with integral ballast using electrical connection to base on one side

Lamp is made of single straight glass tube as gas discharge vessel (1). Vessel has electrodes at both ends and is connected with electronic ballast (2) to create requisite operating voltage. All connections of gas discharge vessel for electronic ballast are at end of vessel (4) in area of first electrode. One external electrical connection (8) to second electrode is at other end of vessel.
