PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling a power supply wherein the margin of a drive transistor can be significantly enhanced, the reliability can be checked in a designing stage, switching response can be markably improved, and any additional heat-generating part can be obviated. SOLUTION: When a CLK signal raises or falls, the duration for which drive transistors Q101, Q102 connected with the primary side of a high-voltage transformer T101 and series-connected with each other are simultaneously off is defined by arbitrary voltages VH, VL determined by the constant setting of resistors R101, R102, R103 applied to the base terminals of transistors Q105, Q104 placed in the stage preceding to the drive transistors Q101, Q102, respectively. |
