A sensor element is fixed in a rigid case (100), forming a full monolithic optical resonator of length (l). Transducers (105,106) fixed separately with respect to the case, convert the pressures (P1,P2) to be measured, into forces (F1,F2) and introduce them to the system element, so that mechanical stress is induced. The optical frequency difference f and the polarization direction of the laser radiation is converted into electrical output signals using an evaluation unit (107). Differential or total pressure of the fluids is measured based on optical frequency difference of the resonator laser radiation.
