The device has a transmission and reception unit connected to the antenna (1) and at least one tuning element (2) connected to the antenna to influence the antenna's resonant frequency. A switching unit (11) in the form of a computer unit and an analogue to digital converter or ADC is provided to enable the electrical characteristics of the tuning element to be varied.
