PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photopolymerizable composite resin for dental restoration exhibiting more excellent physical and mechanical characteristics and biocompatibility than those of a conventional one. SOLUTION: This photopolymerizable composite resin composition for dental restoration comprises a prepolymer mixture as a base obtained by formulating 2,2-bis-(4-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxypropoxy)phenyl) propane ('Bis-GMA' for short) conventionally used as a prepolymer for dental respiration with a multimethacrylate group-containing polyfunctional prepolymer obtained by substituting hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups in the Bis-GMA molecule with methacrylate groups and contains a diluent, an inorganic filler, a photopolymerization base and other additives.
