PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the possibility of generation of a ghost signal and occurrence of a reproduction failure when the temperature of a disk of a domain wall moving type falls down to a low temperature. SOLUTION: The prescribed recording marks recorded on a magneto-optical disk 1 are reproduced and the presence or absence of the ghost signal by the domain wall movement from the rear side in the progressing direction of a light beam is detected. The reproducing of the recorded information is not carried out when the ghost signal is detected.
