PURPOSE:To suppress the increase in the optical transmission loss arising from the thermal deterioration at a high temp., Rayleigh scattering, etc. by using a core material layer which consists of a transparent methacrylic polymer contg. specific weight % or above of a methyl methacrylate unit and is incorporated therein with a radical chain terminator having specific properties and a sleeve material layer consisting of a substantially transparent fluoropolymer having the refractive index lower by a specific ratio of above than the refractive index of the core material layer. CONSTITUTION:The methacrylic polymer to be used as the core material layer 1 is the polymer of which at least 70% in terms of the weight % of the monomer consists of methyl methacrylate. The radical chain terminator which has compatibility with the methacrylic polymer and has small absorption to light approximate to 650nm wavelength is incorporated into the layer 1. The substantially transparent polymer having the refractive index smaller by >=0.01 than the refractive index of the core component is used for the layer 2.
