PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding equipment which never moves a rotation driving source when a rotator moves straight forward and which never creates a bending moment in the case of pressing. SOLUTION: A rotating press mechanism 32 for the friction stir welding equipment fixes a rotation driving source 41 and a straight driving source 40 to a supporting frame 30. The rotation driving force of the source 41 is transmitted to a rotator 31 by a rotation transmitting means having a spline shaft 66. Straight moving force from the source 40 is transmitted by a straight movement transmission means 43 having a straight moving member 48. The member 48 has a screw haft 49 and a nut part 47 to be screwed to the shaft 49 and rotates this member 47 to drive the rotator 31 straight forward. A rotation transmitting means 42 transmits rotary force by a spline 66 in the state of permitting the movement of the rotator 31 in the direction of a rotary shaft L. A spline 76 formed at the lower end of a rotor holding member 70 improves strength and plays the role of preventing play in the case of friction welding by this.
