PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential device capable of obtaining a sufficient differential limiting action even during high load by increasing a friction pressure-contact area of a clutch plate, and of properly switching between a differential stage and a differential limiting stage. SOLUTION: This differential gear comprises one pair of right and left pressure rings 12L, 12R placed in a differential case 11 to be movable in an axel direction and to be incapable of relatively rotational; and one set of right and left clutch means 16L and 16R placed at both sides of an axel direction of the pressure rings 12L and 12R and capable of limiting differential action of right and left axels by limiting relative rotation between the differential cases 11 and side gears 15L, 15R, clutch plates 31L, 32L being different from clutch plates 31R, 32R in the number of sets and/or outer diameter.
