PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melamine acoustic material of which a base material is formed of a lightweight melamine foam produced from a melamine resin as raw material and which lessens the propagation of acoustic waves of the melamine foam by forming a cover material on the outside surface of the base material and is capable of assuring a sufficient sound absorption characteristic without increasing the thickness of the melamine foam and/or without making its density higher. SOLUTION: This melamine acoustic material comprises the base material 12 which is made of the foam of the melamine resin as material, the cover material 14 which is formed to cover the outside surface of the base material 12 and is capable of controlling the sound absorption characteristic of the base material 12 and joining means 16 which joins the base material 12 and the cover material 14.
