PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise of a relatively large quantity of the exhaust discharged at a high speed. SOLUTION: In this muffler, a muffler case is divided into at least two of a large and a small divisions, the inner wall of each division is provided with a noise absorbing and shielding layer, an exhaust flow-in pipe is connected to the small division, and an exhaust flow-out port is opened in the large division. At least one muffler filter is interposed between the large and the small divisions, crossing an exhaust flow passage, and a communication port is formed at a part of the partition wall between the small division and the large division.
