RING BACK TONE SERVICE SYSTEM USING SSP AND A METHOD THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH REDUCING A COST CONSUMED FOR CHANGING OPERATIONAL PROFILES

PURPOSE: An RBT(Ring Back Tone) service system using an SSP(Service Switching Point) and a method thereof are provided to add an SSP to change an operational profile only for an HLR without changing an operational profile for an MSC and an operational profile between the MSC and the HLR. CONSTITUTION: An HLR(160) registers registration information on an RBT service and routing information on an RBT service MSC(110) in a subscriber DB(S100). When a message for requesting a receiver position inquiry is transmitted, the HLR(160) receives receiving routing information, confirms whether a receiver is registered in the RBT service, and transmits a response message for a call connection to an originating MSC(141)(S101-S108). The RBT service MSC(110) sets a call with a receiving MSC(142) corresponding to the call, and monitors whether a basic RBT is delivered(S109). If so, the RBT service MSC(110) requests a sound source supply device(120) to supply a set sound source, transmits a message for call setup, and supplies the sound source to the originating MSC(141) as an alternative sound of the basic RBT(S110-S114).
