PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gas barrier film which shows excellent coating properties; high gas barrier properties under not only a low humidity condition but also a high humidity condition; and superb transparency. SOLUTION: This gas barrier film has at least one gas barrier layer comprising a moisture dispersible resin composed mainly of a sole resin or a plurality of various kinds of resins and a water-swelling inorganic plate-like particle, formed on one surface or both surfaces of a thermoplastic resin base material.
