In a deflection sheave device, a main bearing is fitted on a shaft. A main sheave is fitted on the main bearing. The main sheave has a circular tube section coaxially placed with the shaft so as to surround the shaft. On the outer circumference of the circular tube section is provided a sub sheave. The sub sheave is rotatable about the shaft and also rotatable relative to the main sheave. Ropes are passed over the outer circumferences of the main sheave and the sub sheave.
