A ball mill includes a housing, a support device (1) rotatably-mounted on the housing at a central axis, at least one work piece holder for grinding vessel (5), which is held in a target position in the work piece holder when in its fully inserted into the work-piece holder, and the latter and grinding vessel have complimentary latching devices.
