METHOD FOR REARING LABORATORY POPULATIONS OF ANGOUMOIS GRAIN MOTH (SITOTROGA CEREALELLA OLIV.)

A method for rearing laboratory populations of the angoumois grain moth (Sitotroga cerealella Oliv.) includes settling thereof in biolaboratories under the optimum hydrothermal conditions in barley grain. Eggs of the angumois grain moth one day prior to settling onto the barley grain are treated with a water solution of uracyl in a concentration of 0.05-0.01%. Prior to settling onto the barley grain of the eggs of the angoumois grain moth the barley grain is treated with an aqueous solution of native yeast ribonucleic acid in a concentration of 0.020-0.004%.
